The Hamilton County School District is committed to promoting character in our staff, students, and stakeholders in a unified manner, and character education has been integrated into the district's strategic plan as part of the state mandate.  Please join us in this effort by incorporating the monthly "Character Keys" in your home, business, and/or organization.

Month Character Key Definition
July Courtesy Good manners; polite behavior
August Respect Willingness to show consideration or appreciation; held in high esteem
September Honesty Exhibiting truthfulness and integrity; sincere and fair
October Courage The quality or state of mind or spirit enabling one to face danger or hardship with confidence and resolution
November Gratitude Thankful and appreciative
December Generosity Liberal in giving; thoughtful behavior
January Responsibility Being accountable for the welfare or care of another; duty
February Caring The act of being concerned or interested
March Knowledge Familiarity, awareness, or comprehension acquired by experience or study
April Fairness Free of obstacles; promising; impartial; being in accordance with rules, logic or ethics
May Patriotism Love & devotion to one's own country
June Service The occupation or duties of a servant; work done for others
